On the anniversary of the murder of British Labour MP, Jo Cox, thousands of people got together to celebrate the life of the late MP.
The day spurred the theme of focusing on what we have in common and what we come together around. Politicians all over the UK joined in events in their local communities
Kemi Badenoch, the new Conservative MP for Saffron Walden, tweeted from an event in her town. “Tory, Lib Dem, Labour, UKIP and R4U candidates showing we have #MoreInCommon at the common! Humbled to celebrate #JoCox at #GreatGetTogether”
The Swedish Ambassador the UK sponsored cinnamon buns in one event and overall the celebrations and commemorations were widely applauded in the international community.
